Inside Out Film Festival is looking for volunteers to serve on our Board of Directors and Committees!

For 2024, we are especially seeking volunteers who have expertise in the areas of:

• Film industry, particularly as a distributor, producer or director
• Finance and Accounting (especially CPA’s)
• Fundraising
• Human resources

In order for Inside Out to reflect the world in which we live, we believe in the importance of representation on our Board of Directors and our core committees. We strongly encourage applications from people who identify as transgender, genderqueer, bigender, two-spirited, agender, non-binary or other non-cis gender. We also strongly encourage applicants from Indigenous, Black and other racialized communities.

Are you passionate about 2SLGBTQ+ storytelling? Looking for a way to connect with community and give back? Looking to build practical skills or employment references? Volunteer with the Inside Out Film Festival!

For 34 years, Inside Out has challenged attitudes and changed lives through the promotion, production, and exhibition of film made by and about 2SLGBTQ+ people. Our team of over 200 dedicated volunteers is the heartbeat of this work and truly essential in making the festival possible.

From May 24th to June 1st, we have a range of volunteer opportunities available to suit your schedule and ability. From front of house to set-up to supporting our parties, there is a role for everyone. Volunteers are expected to be available for 3 shifts during the festival.

To show our appreciation, volunteers receive a keepsake festival t-shirt, vouchers to see some of the world’s best independent films, and an invitation to our fabulous wrap-up party with prizes for festival involvement.

In a time of renewed pushback to queer, trans, and two-spirit storytelling, it is as important as ever to support artistic production that exemplifies the brilliance, diversity, and vision of our community. We hope you will join our team in making Canada’s largest 2SLGBTQ+ film festival a success!
