Each year Xtra donates hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of advertising and services to groups and organizations whose activities help to build a stronger and more vibrant community. Our partnerships with cultural groups are an important part of this community-building. We proudly sponsor dozens of events each year-everything from alternative theatre projects to burlesque performances, from queer cabarets to art exhibits, from community choirs to alternative bands.

But we must admit that we have a soft spot for queer film. Every year at this time we anticipate all of the work from queer filmmakers expressing our experiences, voices, cultures, politics and activism-everything that makes the Inside Out LGBT Film and Video Festival fabulous.

As Xtra celebrates our 25th anniversary we reflect on the importance of queer expression through the arts. I am proud to boast that Xtra is the founding media sponsor of Inside Out. After 19 years we are excited to see what this year's festival will bring us!

We salute all of the staff, volunteers and filmmakers who will make this another fantastic Festival. And to all of you in the seats, thank you for supporting queers arts! Enjoy this year's Festival!
